The NSW Government has approved plans for a $190 million wind and solar farm, in the Upper Hunter Valley at Scone - providing renewable power to more than 47,000 homes.

Work ready to start on former CUB site
Construction will begin shortly on the redevelopment of the former Carlton and United Breweries (CUB) site at Broadway, following the approval of the site's $6 million main public park and associated infrastructure. Construction of the park and related infrastructure will support 120 jobs. In total, the $1.3 billion CUB development will create 1,200 construction and 6,000 ongoing jobs.

Economic Stimulus Measures
To further consolidate recent signs of economic recovery, the NSW Government will investigate expanding laws that delivered the most successful stimulus package in the nation. The NSW stimulus laws are delivering a record 1,300 projects, 4,000 social housing homes, and supported 7,800 daily on-site workers in more than 11 months. They also injected more than $1 billion into the State economy in a year.

Premier Kristina Keneally today joined all Australians in remembering the events of a year ago when 173 Victorians lost their lives in the Black Saturday and Gippsland fires.
